New puppies

Our Thanksgiving Blessings: two gorgeous little boys... In the first photo, they're two weeks old; and in the second, they're four weeks old. It's fascinating watching them grow so fast, both mentally and physically. In the first photo, they're about 7.5 oz. each. In the second, a mere two weeks later, they've grown to about 1.5 pounds apiece. In the first, their eyes and ears are closed and they use a swimming motion to move around their whelping box. In the second photo (a mere two weeks later), their eyes and ears are open, they're walking (more or less) upright on their four paws, and they've become aware of their littermates. And, as you can see, they're already beginning to look like little dogs - and very pretty ones at that. Will keep you posted.

Dina's Puppies

Since we are celebrating Dina's puppies, I want to share with you one of my favorite photos. When Dina was 12 to 14 weeks old, she would follow me around when I was working in our back garden. I don't know whether it was the pure joy of being with me or her interest in landscaping, but I grew to really love her companionship while I worked. In the above photo (taken by Robbie), we were inspecting something in the planter. Dina left us when she was 14 or 15 weeks old to live with Linda and Dave Frieden. She's back with us for about 12 weeks to birth ("whelp" for the purist) and raise the puppies.

Out thanks to Linda and Dave. We know they really miss Dina a lot.

Dina's Puppies 4-7-17 - Weeks 4 thru 6

The beginning of week four, we move the puppies from the whelping box (in our guest's bedroom) out to our family room. This is the beginning of the socialization process - a process that is vital to their becoming the terrific companions they were born to be. In the photo above, mom and the little ones are all a little bewildered by their new environment.

Dina' s puppies

Two weeks old . . .
They weighed 5 to 8 ounces at birth.  Now they are all over a pound.

And I had to share this photo with you. Is this a gorgeous little face or what?

New Spring 2016 Pups!

Hi Folks, at long last we again have puppies available. One week ago, Dina, our beautiful tri-color Champion, gave birth to a litter of six! There are four girls and two boys. And now for the good part: they are all Blenheim (chestnut & white). Dad is a Blenheim, but one would expect Blenheim to Tri would produce some of each color - right? Oh well, we're happy to have six, beautiful puppies. And that's not just pride talking. See for yourself:
